Anybody getting out in the hot stuff?

The hot weather has hampered my outings. It's one thing to get out on the water in a boat to cool off, it's different when you have to work up a sweat to move the boat around.

Fished yesterday for a few hours, not much to show for it, but that's the story for me recently. The lake I was on yesterday had a warm water fish kill going on, I'll blame that for my lack of success.

Anybody else out there sweating?

as i crossed the bridge going over the Mississippi River in Anoka [up from the Coon Rapids dam] i noticed a large group of kayak's up from the bridge. had to be at least 30 to 40 of them. good luck.

I've been switching my outings to nights/early mornings. Haven't fished much in the noon-7pm time this month.

This weekend, on the water 10pm friday - 10am saturday.

Sunday 5am to 1pm.

I'm fishing the early morning hours as well. But overall, my time has been pretty limited though. With the combination of the Mississippi river being high and being busier than ever at work, there just hasn't been a lot of time spent on the water. I'm actually thinking about investing in a float tube to throw in my trunk when I'm on the road for work. I'm finding myself up in the Brainerd and Duluth area just jonesin' to get into one of the billion lakes more often than I'd like.

I haven't taken the kayak out in this humidity either. I've been in the boat a few times but I have to get out soon to test out my new GoPro.

The wife, her sister and I have been spending hours in the kayaks the last three weekends. We have been fishing bass in the pads pitching frogs. Can't beat them for working the thick stuff. And yes.........it is hot out there.
