Muskie killed for circle hook in Rapidan

Went out to one of my favorite cat spots to a horror story in the works. A guy I was fishing downstream from said a guy caught a Muskie a couple days ago. In disbelief I said yeah right, the guy said the other guy killed it cause he wanted his circle hook back it had swallowed, and showed me a pic of a dead fish on the rocks in the area we were at. Blood was all over in the pic and was still there on the rock. Fish looked to be about mid 30's simple guess......sad day but I guess to some its just a fish. Wish I had been there.

First of all he broke the law because that fish was under the state-wide minimum size for harvesting a musky so in the very least he should be cited for that. Then about 10,000 lashes (1 for each cast required to catch a musky) in the parking lot of the nearest muskies inc meeting. I mean seriously. How expensive is a dang hook. Good lord people.

Yeah man this had me bummed out, simply because I would love to hook one out cattin, then I hear this came out of my fav spot.....hard to stomach. There is nothing to site the guy for now, started to smell and someone threw it in. Besides you would still have to get him to admit. What a P O S
