hitthebricks
For the last few years my lawn has developed little bumps the size of a smashed golf ball. There is more each week when I cut the grass. What causes these and how do I stop it. It mostly is in a area where I have too much shade and the grass is not real thick anymoreHTB

nate larson
I have em too! I am thinking they are nightcrawlers. I am going to try to put down some grub control and see if it helps at all. Does anyone else have any insight on this? Is it best to get a roller to get rid of the bumps?
fishnhuntnboy
Sounds like and earthworm/night crawler problem. When you look at the lawn and it looks like it could have been aerated and the mounds are little dirt clumps then that's what it is. To my knowledge there is nothing that gets rid of them. The grub app won't work on earthworms. If there is something in sure someone will post or give linders or gertens a call.
paceman
There must be something that works to get rid of worms. I know my golf club sprays the greens with something to get rid of the them.
flipper
Worms are a lawns natural aerator. I really don't consider them a problem. If the bumps annoy you that much, rent a roller and roll them flat every once in a while during a wet period. Just my opinion....
