well I guess it was on of those once in a lifetime days. for starters third cast on topwater boom 38 incher. wow good day just starting. bucktail over the weed hump, 40.5 shot out of the water like a cannon coolest thing ever. next low 40's follow up at the boat came in 3 times and left. suicks turn 39 incher crushed it 5 ft from the boat. what a day! anotheer follow on a crank, missed another on a suick, I zigged when I should have zagged. then finally hooked a 42 on the suick and watched him go airborne SWEET! all in 7 hours a total of 4 in the boat and 3 follows. I might have to go back to lake X sometime.I will post pics if someone tells me how.
by the way, these are the first muskys I have ever cought. I am new to this but I guess I did something right.

Greggles, congrats on first muskies! Don't get used to it being that easy everyday though. Sounds like a better day of muskie fishing than I've had in about 8 years of trying to catch them. Best I've had is 2 in the boat and 3 follows on the same day.

Yep.........all timing............

On Minnetonka, I boated 3 skis in 15 minutes. They were cruising the top of the weed bed and I picked off each one with top water.

Unfortunately, they were all in the 30 to 35 inch range.............

Yeah, it was definatly a fun day on the water seeing all them fish. Too bad I didn't get that follower to bite. Greggles had all the exciting fun. We will have to try that again, sometime soon. You still have all the excitment in you, don't you. I can tell by the way you were describing the day.
By the way what rod length were you using for the suick. I couldn't remember.

What about the 50+ incher? You're day cannot be complete without one of those rolleyes.gif! Oh well back to the drawing board for you, Mr. Greggles. Just kidding! Congrats on a great day of muskie fishing for anyone, let alone a first-timer wink.gif!

What happened. It looks like the fish shrunk. I could swear they looked a lot bigger than that, when we took pictures of them. I guess I should take better pictures, huh. rolleyes.gif Or was it cause of all the excitment, that they just seemed that much bigger. Man can't wait to see a 50 incher.
Man oh man pictures are very deceiving.

They always look bigger in the boat than on film. The REALLY big ones are the ones you only see in the water! ;-) Those follows can look very big sometimes.

Once they reach about 44" they take a much better picture. Something about the way they fill out , once they get into the low 40's, that they still look big on film. That 42" in the pictures looks pretty beefy and shows well on film.

Congrats on a great day! Looking at the weather in the pictures, it's no surprise you had a good day. That is MUSKIE weather.

Greggles,
Just curious -- Was that on 8/25 by any chance? We had a great day on Lake Y that Wed. morn. We got 2 mid 40's to the boat and over a dozen blow-ups. All top-water. A better fisher than we could have turned a few of those into boated fish. Great day! Lot's of action. Fog didn't lift till around 10 that morning.
Just interested if other lakes were really turned on that day. Anyone else???
This morning (9/1) looked to be a duplicate weather-wise, but saw only 2 lookers. Go figure.

Greg,
Went back to lake X on friday, and never even had a follow. Tried using my whole arsonal of lures including 2 different colored siucks. Tried all the spots that produced fish for us and others nothing.
We must have just had good timing for that day. Or this was bad timing for me.
