Probably need a new garage door

A serious case of HUA led to damage to the garage door. I am not positive but in case I need a new one I was wondering what recommendations folks have.

I probably need a custom door because the opening is only 6'6". The current door is solid with a wood grain finish and no windows. It is 1 1/2 inches thick. I gave up trying to get this one working and have Twin City Garage Door coming out first thing Tuesday morning.

I also have a second single door so dramatic changes would probably be out of the question. I am thinking about getting one with windows at the very top so I get some light into the garage. Security concerns had led me to keep solid doors but maybe one with the windows on the top panel wouldn't be that bad. I heat the garage in the winter to about 42 degrees so I know that an insulated door is a must.

Thanks for your time.

Tom

P.S. I have been a strong advocate of DIY door repairs so it is painful to admit defeat.

yeah, what HUA? GIBBS Insulation and overhead door is who I use, I know he goes to the cities a lot for Jobs, so he may go that far. He installs Midland doors, and they seam to be as good as any I have seen, and he does great work, and stands behind it. You can PM me if you want his contact info.

I used Industrial Door (Coon Rapids?...) when I built my garage 10 years ago. 10x8 and 18x8 are still doing great. 2" steel insulated, and the 10x8 even got hit by wifey, and barely dented, and stayed hanging wink

Price was reasonable, but that was a while ago. Good luck tom.
