ImaTeacher
I have 1 18.5 Yamaha g3 with a 150 hp four stroke. My trailer is a single axel g3 trailer. The tires are 125/75/14. The tire treadwall says to inflate to 65 psi, but this seems high to me. I am wondering what others do with the radial tires on trailers. Any help would be appreciated! Esox_Magnum
Whatever the tire says... Mine are 41 I think my truck tires are 65...
herefish101
look at the load range of the tire, most tires say the highest psi for the max load on the tire. That said if your boat is close to the max load run your tires high, but just like with your vehicle anywhere from around 32 psi all the way up to the highest rating for your tire is usually good. Max load on my truck tires is at 65 psi, when your tires are that hard you can feel every crack in the road, I run them at 40 psi and I get great wear, a good ride, and I can still haul a decent size load without adding air. Valv
Trailer tire are made different form car/truck tires, that's why they have "For Trailer Use Only" printed on the sidewall.I always keep the max pressure printed on sidewall with any trailer I ever had or used. Lowering the pressure will increase overheating of the tire and will cause detachment of thread, over inflating will cause tore to expand beyond the specs, then blowout due to air expansion when hot. mthunter
I also have a G3 with bear trailer, which I had major tire problems with - but that is a different story. But in getting those problems fixed I did learn, from Bear trailer, that you should always fill your trailer tires to the max recommended air pressure. Hoey
1+ - through experience and advice, run the tires at full psi.
MNHunter65
I've always assumed you should check trailer tire psi with the trailer loaded, so that is what I have done. Have I been right in my assumption? I've talked to some guys who say to check tire pressure with the boat off the trailer.

8-Ball
50 psi cold for my tires-185 r 13's. Should stay near max for trailer tire pressure, IMO.
