camera recomendation...

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to decide between the moultrie m-80 the primos 60 or x (read a lot of bad reviews on x or id just get it its on sale big time), and bushnell 5.0 trophy cam, all are around same price. My biggest focus is picture quality then flash and motion detection range, battery life and size is secondary. I have a lot of cameras mostly 100$ range (moultrie d50s, wildviews, a stealthcam, one primose 46) I'm looking for little nicer picture quality in this one.

I appreciate any thoughts out there...

Im mainly conceerned with wat an when with good clarity. Im not trying to win a phonebook cover contest, but thats me. It seems like you have qaulity cams, maybe start tweaking things at the site like cam set up, distance, sensitivity, maybe getting the surounding foiliage trimed back more so cam is focusing soley on bear an not blowing branch ect... maybe you have tho, but you know as well for better clarity its flash cams. Sorry dont think im to much help here, good luck, boar

I appreciate the advice its not so much I need to tweek it, I agree placement is huge pointing away from sun, brush, etc and the correct distance. In my opinion there is a differece in focus quality in a hundred dollar camera vs 200$ camera I just want to get a few better pics this season. Some of mine come out blurry or grainy even under good condition.

Thanks

I like my Moultries for good pictures but I feel they lag a little in trigger speed.I'm in heavy brush so I normaly only get one shot at a deer and often times I get the rear end unless I get the camera pointed up or down the trail, broadside stuff is a tough.

The Moultrie M-80 and M-100 I have the trigger speed is way faster then all the other Moultries I have. This is my 2nd year with the M-80 and I have been really happy with it. The M-80 is very comparible to the Bushnell trophy cam. Chas ing G ame dot com gave it good reviews.

PS the big C store has the M-80 on sale right now for 109.99.

We do not grow very big bucks like they do just north and south of us. Only so much nutrients in a spruce branch. Once we do get a big buck it becomes famous and often has a hard time making it to season. Go 30 miles either way from the Waskish swamp and they get some dandies.

well maybe not so funny wen one actually thinks about it like that. Good thing for the bear. how do the deer taste over in the swamp?, alot different from our cow deer that get beans, an sunflowers an corn ect.....

I have been living on the edge with my cameras and have not made boxes yet. I just make sure my hands are clean when I handle them. Hope to make some boxes this year. I would think the metal ones that are sold for them would be good. As far as the big buck, never did see him during season last year. Funny also that we have been seeing a few nicer bucks and we are smack dab in the middle of the TB zone. Never did hear if that buck got shot or not. Hoping to see him on the cam again this year. Will have to wait and see. Good luck with your new cam Jay. I think you will like it. I like mine. It is amazing how bright the night pics are.

Thanks, I liked the pics from backyard so far, quality seems good hopefully out in the field is comparable. I picked up two more one is a 80xd suppose to be little less blurry it was on sale. Also baught a moultrie box its ok camera little loose in it but not bad, and I order two cam lock boxes for others. So I will have nice cameras and box at all 3 sites.

Thanks for all suggestion guys...
