rigged plastic swimbaits

Recommended Posts

I am a big fan of the Berkley Hollow Belly and Flatback Shads.

Big Hammer Swim Tails are another favorite.

Love probing deep weed lines with any of those 3 baits on 1.5 to 3 oz bullet nose jig heads.

I guess they really are not rigged.

You must be talking about baits like the Storm Wildeye Shad and such.

I make my own 5''er, it's quite skinny compared to many other 5'' swimbaits, and it's a belly-slot you texas-rig on an EWG weighted hook so you can fish it weedless. It gets bigger bass on the lakes I fish. I get lots of snot rockets with it too, but then again I haven't fished it in places with big pike to know if it's just that pike like it, or if just SMALL pike like it.

For commercially available swimbaits, the one I like best are the Big Hammer swimbaits.

There aren't any pre-rigged swimbaits that I like better than the ones you put on a hook or jighead yourself.

For the hard plastic articulated swimbaits, I like the Sebile Magic Swimmers and the Koppers Live Targets. For soft plastics, I prefer to use an Owner bullet nosed jighead with either a Big Hammer or a Lunker City Shaker. Pike are tough on these soft baits, but man they trigger a lot of strikes.
