nofishfisherman
You could look at the upper stretches of the St. Croix. I've fished the St. Croix in St. Croix state park and its a fun paddle with some good small mouth fishing along with some pike and walleye.Camping could be done at St. Croix state park but I'm not sure what its like right now after the blow down. There are also campsites along the river that are first come first serve for canoes. You could also do some of the other state parks further north and then drive a little to put the canoe in. You may want to look at the river levels, I'm sure they are high, high water will spread the fish out for sure, normally that stretch is pretty shallow so you can focus mainly on the pools.
