Pike hooked in eye

Caught a decent little Pike last night.The treble hooks were placed well in the mouth but the single hook went right in its eye socket. I was really upset. Does anyone know what the chances are of that fish surviving? I did release it, but next time should i consider keeping it. I never keep fish, but if it's going to die i would like to. Thanks a lot.

It should survive fine. I,ve caught numerous fish with only one eye.

should be fine look at the number panfish out there that have one eye, it will probably turn white and go blind but should be fine

That pike will eat the same as a pike with two eyes.

It happens to all of us and it's never a good feeling, but the fish will live.

Catch and release is fine, myself I would clean and eat it, unless it was in the slot where I would throw it back. I've never tasted a better fish then northern, although not everyone takes care of them like I do. I'm just saying I take care of them different then I've seen others take care of them. Clean them as soon as possible and don't get any slime on the meat.
