XBOX 360 Power Supply

Kids xbox 360 power supply has been shutting down the system. Red light on power supply indicated fault. let it cool and it works, however the time between next crash has reduced to 15 mins so i told him to stop using it. system was brand new 18 months ago Anyone else have this issue?

that is called the red lights of death.

I have fixed my boys x box by you tubing red light of death.

dust builds up on the cooling coil and fins.

you tube will show you step by step how to take it apart

what to clean and how to put it back together.

get ready the kids in it will be 12 or so

i was concerned about the this problem, however the console does not flash any red lights, only see the red light on the power supply itself. im going to check out you tube though. thanks

Ended up seeing a video about the power supply getting too hot. You tube showed a guy tkaing it apart and cleaning the fan. I did same, found the fan in the power supply was dusted up, cleaned it with some compressed air. That did the trick.

Gotta love youtube!! I fixed my Samsung 40" LCD TV using a youtube video saved me 3-400 bucks on a service call or more for a new TV.
