The spawn is not done on Mille Lacs

Fished Mille Lacs this morning for Pike.

Could not catch a Pike to save my life.

Too many pesky walleyes and bass eating spinnerbaits and Bucktails.

Lots of Largies up shallow.

Lots of Smallmouth on beds too in a couple areas I looked at.

Go get them boys!

I will be at my Father In Law's Funeral tomorrow.......otherwise I would be up there sight fishing bedded smallmouth.

That spinnerbait is clearly a pike spinnerbait. Big double will leaf blades. We all know bass like colorado blades. Fish on RRR. Thats a nice walter your holding up in the pic.

Apparently walleyes like 1oz Double Willow spinnerbaits.

I was fishing on Winnibigoshish down by the dam a few years ago throwing a small spinnerbait in about 6 feet of weedy water had a low 20" inch walleye just pound the thing. First and only walleye i've caught on a spinnerbait. Last years FLW walleye tourney on lake oahe in south dakota was won by a guy trolling spinnerbaits and deflecting them off the submerged trees. The spinnerbaits didnt hang in the branches like the crankbaits. If I remember correctly a guy on here named Hanson won the co angler side by using the same technique as his boater.
