Cv boot ? Install myself

I have a 2002 Bombadier traxter and I noticed the front outer CV boot is torn. Is this easy to replace or do I need to have a pro do it/ Thanks DrJ....

I wouldnt say its easy, but its certainly doable with some patience and understanding of what you are getting into. You'll need basic hand tools to remove the axle, then some snap ring pliers and a crimping tool for the boot band. There are good diagrams and pictures easily found online to look at so you know what to look for when disassembling. On some models you may have to take the inner apart in order to get the boot off of the outer. In any case be prepared to get very greasy once you get the joint opened up.

I would check the price on just replacing the whole "assembly" vs. just the boot. Might be quicker and easier. At least it was for me on my Sportsman.
