Lindy Riggin' with braid.

I switched over to power pro 10/2 this season on my rigging rods. I am having the issue of my leader wrapping around the braid on the drop down. I use 2-3ft leaders of 8lb berkly 100% fluorocarbon. I rarely had this issue when i used mono as my main line but now with the braid as my main line it is happening all the time. I have tried to lower it slower and have also tried to lower it while moving a bit but it keeps happening. I did also try using 8lb mono has a leader too.

Has anyone else had this issue consistently? Any idea on why it is happening?

Thanks.

I use fireline on my ridding rod. This happens to me too but only when I am using leaches. It sucks, but I can usually feel the difference because it creates a little more drag in the water.

I use fireline with usually a 7-10ft snell and have never had this issue. In fact I have recently been using the roach rig with an adjustable leader length so the floro between the hook and swivel is sometimes only 3-4 feet and have still never had this happen. I would try lengthening your leader to see if that solves your problem. If it does you either need to use longer leaders or switch out your braid.

I use a plain Berkley Cross Lock snap. No swivel tied to Fireline and Vanish! Clip on a 3/4 or 1 ounce bell sinker so the sinker doesn't slide on the line above the snap.

I always use stinger hooks and using fireline you can feel the bite instantly, so I set the hook right away when I fell any bite! Never have the line tangle with this method!!!

The heavier weight lets me keep the rig above the bottom without snagging and or fowling the hook with gunk weeds!

Good Luck!!!

I use power pro and don't have this issue with 3-8' snells. I use lindy no snag weights attached via Quick-Change Clevis above the ball bearing swivel. I don't use the very tiny swivels...but not huge ones either.
