Digger Anchor ?

Recommended Posts

I don't really know where to post this so I will start here. I see that Digger Anchor now has a Digger Anchor 2 model. I am wondering if anyone has experience with either of the Digger Anchors 1 or 2 because there is a pretty big price difference between the two of them.

Thanks............

Scaup.. I have a couple #12 digger's in pretty good shape that I will get rid of if you know someone! (57) can call me at 507-370-1694 and as far as I know, the differance is the release. Maybe i'm wrong but that's what I heard.

My wife bought me one for Christmas. I wanted a PP but could not justify $2K since I troll 98% of the time. I have the transom setup w/10' rod. No drilling necessary. The first time I took it out, the wind and wakes kept pushing my boat so the bracket bent and the welds broke. I had to modify the it by welding on extra aluminum pieces to make it stronger. I love it, can't imagine not having one.

FYI: They do not float. I lost the factory 10' weeks ago but I choose to buy the rods directly from the distributor. Had I bought a replacement rod from the digger, it would've cost me $85+ shipping. I bought it from a mfg who makes these rods. A pair for $32 plus shipping.

PM me if you want more info.

I have used a Digger anchor for the past 4 years and it holds very well. I doi also use the bungee cord when it's very windy out to help with this but it may not be needed. I forgot the name of the cord but it would help with any achor in the windy conditions. Lost my last one on the Rainy river.

If your interested in trading 1 of your Diggers for some Muskie lures, shoot me an e-mail. Or, let me know what else you may be interested in, I have quite a few options for a trade if we can find something you need. Maybe some ice fishing gear if you fish the hard water.
