GMC painted bumper rusting

My 07 GMC Sierra white painted bumper is starting to rust pretty bad. I noticed other bumpers around town doing the same. Any recomondations

if I should have it repaired or purchase a new one?

I have a 2011 Silverado that has a painted front bumper but the ends are plastic. Just the very center is metal and painted. I have noticed some chips but nothing serios yet. I suspect that it will get worse and if it does I will take it to LINE X and have the center sprayed black.

The painted ones always seem to rust compared to the chrome ones. I have a black 2008 silverado with the same center portion painted black. it chips, it rusts, and you'll eventually paint it or replace it.

A good body shop can sandblast it and repaint it. If you buy a new one it will probably need to be painted to match anyway. There is a 3M clear film that can be put on after it's painted that will protect it. Body shop will know about it.
