I always go female because they are more social but males are more gung ho about hunting...Its a never ending question

Both can be equally great dogs, have always had both, females can tend to be a bit more moody, the male I have now is the most personal dog i have ever owned, and his half sister is the most unpersonal dog I have ever owned, so you never know. One thing I really don't like about feamales is there heat cycles, they always come at the wrong time, and it's a pain living with intact males during the cycle.

I have had a lot of a Shorthairs both male and female. My best dog ever was a great little female. I now currently have two males and a female and they all have their own traits. The biggest thing is the females kill the grass and the males kill the shrubs. Flip a coin.
