Choke Question

You're shooting a patternmaster. Its a wad-stripping choke so you cannot use some of the new ammo with speacialty wads like the Federal flight-control or similar loads. MOst of the ammo will have a note about not using with a wad stripping choke.

Some of the chokes that are out there are steel only so be careful and check all that stuff out first for safteys sake.

I shoot a undertaker extra full in my Remington 870 and the same in my 835 ulti-mag

Both guns shoot federals very well and my mossy shoots remingtons turkey loads better than my 870

Good Luck

I doubt there are steel only chokes, but there are plenty of lead only ones. Try some basics, Winchester super X or Remington nitro-turkey shells. Don't be afraid to try 2 3/4" loads, they kill just as well as a 3 1/2". If you are a reloader, I have some 3" and 3 1/2" loads that pattern better than any factory load I have tried (for me in my benelli nova), pm me for the data.

There are general rules and if you check out the patterning article it will give some guidelines. Even though the federal cartridge flight control wad are supposed to stay with the shot for a long period of time. I have a gun that shoots these well even though it is a wad stripping choke.

Moral of the story is you never know unless you try it first.
