Redhorse time

Its gotta be getting close to getting some of these suckers on the line and if I dont head south to fish tomorrow I will hit a few spots around here for some redhorse.

Has anybody been out yet?

Water is full of debris and a few pieces of ice are still floating down the river.

I will give it a few days then try again. I need a sucker or two for cut bait.

I've never caught a redhorse before and would really like to. Where could I go to catch a couple? And do they bite this early in the spring??

got 4 of these yesterday afternoon on the Turkey River S. of Guttenburg, IA near the Miss.

maybe I was far enuf south to get the early bite- one of the locals said this was pretty early for suckers to be there of course

is this a redhorse sucker or something else?

a couple of them had brilliant red tails

Nothing happening up here in St Cloud yet, heck I didn't even see any....still pretty early, and the water is pretty low, so the usual spots might not be as good as years past. If I get into some, I'll let y'all know when they start turning on.

Yes they will bite this early in the spring IMO best time to catch them is now.

Where do you live? Creeks and rivers are great places to find these treasures of the water. if you want to travel the Rum River is a great fishery.
