Alone in the wilderness

This is a great documentary that is on KTCA ch.2 about day to day explorations and activities carried out by a man who lived alone in a cabin in the alaskan wilderness.

It on right now.And the guy goes thru great detailnin how to build a cabin. This was filmed in 1967.

The guys name is Dick Proenneke he also wrote a couple great books

There are two, or three of these documentaries, I thought there was only one? My daughter got me the video for Christmas a couple of years ago...last Christmas, she got me the Blue Planet series.

I love this documentary!!! I highly recommennd it for anyone who has not seen it. Dick Proenneke is amazing... the things that man was able to do with his bare hands are amazing. I'm pretty sure his cabin is still standing at Twin Lakes and it is now owned by the National Park Service and you can actually go and tour it if you would like. He lived there for 30 years by himself, living off the land. Pretty amazing stuff

This a great night for these types of shows I'm glued to yet another one on lake land public tv and it's called Birch Bark Canoe. It's another great show but the one that followed Alone in the Wilderness called Chased by the Light looks to be a great one as well.
