Older lake master chip

Trout26

Question

I have a couple year old lowrance h20 with a lake master chip. I just bought a new boat and was looking at buying a Lowrance elite 5 dsi to put in it. Is my lake master chip compatible with it or would I have to buy a Navionics chip for it. Thanks in advance.

I don't think it will work you might have to up grade a little to a hds5 at least this is what a salesman told me also the elite uses a different transducer when I up graded from a older unit I didn't have to change a thing wire hookups also was the same .so the $100 difference made more sence at least for me .

If that unit uses a sd card in the older format. Does the unit state it needs a microSD card, if so, then the older SD will not work.

I believe it would depend on how old you sd card is and if as I said, the new unit requires a micro sd card. The unit should tell you what type card you will need.
