Trailer Width Question

What is the total width that a trailer can be, from outside tire to outside tire? I keep getting different answers.

The widest a trailer can be at any point is 8ft-6 inches. (102) inches

It doesnt mean just the tires, no part of the trailer OR its load can be any more than 8.6 inches wide.

That sounds about right. That's why we always cut our logs at 100".

Logs are cut to 100 inches for 8ft lumber 96+ inches,the rough sawn needs trimable ends,8ft lumber should measure at least 96 1/2 some are 3/4 and more.

any vehicle on the roads is max width of 102 inches. use to be 96 and they changed in the mid 90's.

I would add that does not include mirrors or some other safety devices.
