Stump Blinds

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with stump blinds? I'm thinking of getting one for next season and I am loooking for input from people that have them or have used them. I know building my own permanent stand would be cheaper but that is not an option I have. I hunt private land and need something that can be easily removed if my current situation were to change.

Yeah, I bought the one-man blind a little over a year ago. After sitting in a hang-on stand and enduring the cold and snow during the gun and muzzleloader seasons in 2010,I knew I had to do do something different to be able to sit out there all day.We have 60 acres but my stand site is across a swamp and the thought of a bunch of trips carrying materials put a damper on building my own.Got it in March and two of us were able to carry it out there easily while the swamp was frozen. When the ground was thawed out we dug the holes for the treated 4x4 legs, installed the base and the legs, hoisted it up and leveled it.Built and attached a ladder, installed the windows, made a floormat with carpet from Fleet Farm,a little paint for camo, etc. Before the season I put an old office chair in there and with a small propane heater it was a more enjoyable season. The material it's made of seems pretty sturdy.Hope this helps.
