I totally agree that the Otter components are the best on the market. Probably why CC still uses thier sleds. Almost everything Otter makes for portables would be considered the best. The shell being the exception. When all was said and done I paid $120 more to have the Canvas Craft frame and shell on my portable. Money well spent IMO.

I will be upgrading next year and from all the great adviceon hear it will probably be Otter or CC.

Now I currentlt fish out of a Clam Kenai and the next will be just a tad bigger.

Already looking forward to next year's Ice Show.

I was going with the Frabill Preditor thermal until I got in on a sweet deal at Reeds and got an Otter Pro Thermal Lodge for two hundo off, that also made it cheaper than the Frabill. Now I'm very happy I did it, the Otter thermal is the nicest shack ever.

I've posted this before but the canvas craft pole system scares me. Everyone says they don't bind but I have seen so many of the old clam, frabill, eskimo brands bind with the conduit style poles. How are the poles different on a canvas craft that they don't bind? Will be purchasing a cc or otter full thermal next fall.

They're also galvanized steel so they don't bend nearly as easily as the aluminum ones.
