Aqua Vu Micro underwater camera

Waterwolf22

Question

I am thinking of buying a Aqua Vu micro underwater camera at about 300 bucks

I am a little cautious.... Anybody really like or dislike these cameras? The small screen size is one negative. But I think they would be great for scouting and color is a +.... Any thoughts would be great!

If you plan on using it for scouting it is well worth it. They are very light and mobile and actually have good vision in low lighting.

I've been using mine quite a bit waterwolf. I really like it. As I've said in a few posts, If you want a camera solely to use for "sight fishing", you may want something with a larger screen but for moving around and looking at structure and identifying fish, currently it cannot be beat.

If you have any questions, post them here and I will try to help out.

Here are a couple of vids I've taken. The image is really quite clear and some of the quality is lost in the compression of the video. At about 3:25 in the one video, you can get a better idea of the size and clarity.

From what I have seen and heard abouth the Micro, it seems to me to be good enough for scouting and using in a portable or perm.

Most people I know do not use a camera all the time or for that matter, that much.

So for the average fellow, this Micro would serve both purposes very well. One could have the Micro and another but then one is spending quite a few dollars.

I do have a larger underwater camera but it does take up space and is quite a bit larger. I believe I would use the Micro more time than the larger units. I rarely use the unit I have now and it is simply to large to lug around checking holes. The Micro seems to fit that purpose very well.

Thanks for the posts and the video, I have been holding off purchasing an underwater camera for the 2 reasons of wanting a color monitor and the compact size issue. The older style cameras were so bulky to haul around....

I realize too with kids fishing it adds a whole lot to the outdoor / fishing experience. We live in the iphone age that the kids are so in tune with so the micro camera would fit well.

Looks like a great camera for scouting spots and maybe move around a lot.....

think i saw one last week when i was in Blaine. Got mine at Oakdale a couple weeks back (they had 2 others at the time). When I called Lakeville a couple weeks ago they had no idea what i was talking about. Free case offer MAY be over as of the end of January.
