Has any one ever fished lake Norman?

The next bass master southern open is on lake norman in NC and I have never been to that part of the country. I am curious what i should kind of expect... We will be there in the beginning of april. thanks Jonah

I fished it as a coangler a number of years agoin May I believe and it has a lot to offer. Clear water, huge lake lots of points, backwater areas and a dam to fish as well. We hit a lot of humps and rip rap as I remember in the afternoon but did a lot of topwater early in the morning. Also fished a lot of docks, at least the pro did, all I got was used water that day but a few fish that were big. Didn't drop shot back then but you might be doing that now as those humps and points might be prime for that. We did a lot of Carolina Rigging and football type jigs across those rock humps and off the rock fingers as well. Beautiful country down there as well.

I think I was in the same event i fished with chris baumgardner (sp?) and Terry Scroggins I just missed the top 12

Caught all my fish day one with CB fishing a jig worm/shakey head casting to shallow points docks also upgraded on dt6 i had my limit before he caught one! He swithed to the dt and shakey head and cleaned house. Day two started with Scroggins pitching docks fish were blowing up n bait in middle of cove we fished and I caught 6 in 6 casts on an xrap gave one to big show as he didnt have any and he caught two big ones and filled his limit in a dozen casts. I lost a 4lber he knew he was in the cut and spent the rest of the day trying to get me in he let me fish 100 docks before he did and I caught fish on a lot of them eneded up a lb short. I have to say I was more than impressed with both my pros as the helped me catch fish and landed them for me when I got a good one.

It was a fun lake to fish
