Oddly enough, where I fish is line-of-sight to my house, and my WiFi reaches my shelter. So I take my android tablet and either listen to music or watch netflix while I'm fishing with the dog, eating Cheetos and drinking pop. It makes the hours fly by.

I haven't noticed any difference - I still get bites with the noise (and I don't wear headphones, I keep it low - even though there's never anyone near me - sound carries across the lake very well).

I too have pandora and a plethora of music I've bought on my blackberry but if I'm feeling rich I go to the dollar store and buy the 8 D batteries needed for my Sirius boombox. Little Steven's Underground Garage is tough to beat while fishing. i think it's relative to how your fishing, if you're in 9 feet of water for walleys at midnightand you have the volume high, then yeah it might make them a little wary, but I had pandora going last night and was catching crappies 5 feet under the ice so I dont think it hampered that at all.

i usually have the Ipod going headphones when out hole hopping but I made a bracket in my Wild 3 that holds an Ipod dock, I like to be able to hear if someone is driving near me, had a drunk miss my shack by a foot actually ran over my tip-up case. But never had a problem catching fish. As said before keep volume in line with how your fishing.

Sometimes it helps sometimes it hurts. I'm more likely to repeat the same thing over and over and make sure that a single possible opportunity isn't missed despite how monotonous it might seem if I have music or the baseball game on. I might fish longer.

However if I'm out of touch with the surroundings, I also might miss something.

I'm relaxed being completely in my element, or I'm relaxed cuz I sometimes catch a fish while listening to the baseball game.. so in the long run I'm just happy and relaxed laugh
