Choke question ?

I run a extended extra full mosberg turkey choke and I also have ext extra fulll undertaker choke for my 870 my question is I know they are lead only could you shoot buck shoot thru them like 4 buck or even 00 buck it is lead thinking they would work good for varmints also.

So have any of you done this before?

That should be fine, the real concern is that steel shot won't compress as it passes through the choke constriction, any lead or soft nontoxic will compress and not deform the choke tube. The other reason steel is a concern is that the pellets get squeezed together as they pass through, and then as they are released the all bounce off one another and no matter what you do you won't get any good or consistent pattern, imagine the effect as throwing a bunch of bb's through a smaller tube and seeing them bounce off each other.

Yup Gordie I run #4 buck for yotes out of my xfull turkey choke.
