Limiting volume on a Denon amp?

Install a hidden rheostat, or get a cheap assortment of resistors from radio shack or online and experiment with what works at keeping the max volume at an acceptable level to make it more permanent and install it in-line. The rheostat would obviously be easily adjustable if it gets found.

OR let them know you will no longer tolerate the volume being pushed past a certain level. I know every shop I've worked in that was the case. At one place a couple people pushed their luck and ruined it for everyone. If you're the boss, you should have the last word.

Look in the Options area under Volume Control. I don't know if it's % or absolute numbers but, on mine you can limit volume output but, the selections are only Off, 61,71 and 81..as far as I can see.

Mine also has a power on volume preset so, when the unit is turned on, the volume is already set. That option, on mine, is fully adjustable. Set it and tell them, don't touch!
