Bow Storage Question

Does anyone have a definitive “do or don’t” on storing compound bows when not in regular use? Is it wise or unwise to store them in a plastic case? Or, should one hang them in a storage room, having them exposed and not cased? Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

i have always left mine cased in the off season or when im not using them, have been doing that for 10+ years

Only issue would be to keep it out of direct sunlight for prolonged periods. The absolute best thing is to not put it away at all. Join an indoor winter league, take in the many 3D shoots held during the winter, spring and summer. Join another outdoor league in the spring. You'd be amazed at how your shooting improves and how much more confident you are going into the hunting season when you shoot year-round.

I'm totally with Don- don't store it. At the very least, even if you don't shoot regularly in the Winter and Spring, shoot infrequently. Don't put it away, but at least shoot once a month. I shoot 12 months a year and actually shoot more from Feb through May than any time of year. Since I started doing this my shooting has improved a lot...
