Add on spring bobbers

I ordered a 17" jason Mitchell sight fishing rod and would like to add a spring bobber. What would be a good one to mount on it permanently with a schooley reel on it. So when jigging I have the reel on the bottom of the rod and when reeling in a fish it is on the left side of the rod. So the strike indicator has to have a round shaft to bend both ways mentioned. Any good ideas? Any how to attach it? Super glue over tied line?

Thought about that one also saw one that Fiskas makes. They have different ones for there tungsten jig sizes. I like to use their 3mm to 5mm for gills and crappies. Does that frabill one freeze up easy? Pretty small end

all will freeze up of a style like that... Not that bad normaly, if it's that bad I stay in the shack with the heater...

If it has to flex both ways, then your almost stuck with the spring style and those freeze up big time.

Just got in from a few hours of fishing. I had major freeze up issues with spring bobbers tonight. Had to land two waldos hand over hand. Gonna have to find an alternate. (kind of got spoiled the last few weeks with the warmer temps!)

Check out the Fiskas strike indicators. Have a bigger eye and easily installed. Going with that one and see how it is. Looking foward to using the JM elite series rods!

Check out the st. croix spring. You can change the springs for different actions. Kinda expensive though, about $9 per spring. You also have to install a mount on your rod tip. I've put a vew of them on for people and they really like them.

Might just get the 18 inch spring bobber rod by jm also. All ready to go and one more guide on it helps to use the rod more effectively,Also has longer handle for the schooley reel

The Action Bite Indicator is a good one too. Couple different sizes. Add on and remove from your rod tip easily. They are out of Michigan and accept orders online.

the JM spring bobber rods are very nice, BUT they break VERY easily...my wire end got bent by wind on monday, i tried to fix by hand & snapped tip off barely touching it in wind & cold, i have now had 2 break within last 10 months but they replaced 1st broken @ no charge, will see bout 2nd one.
