What pound test?

I'm headed to lake of the woods to chase some walleyes in feb. Wondering what pound test is best for jigging walleyes? I was going to use 4 or 6 what you think? Mono? I am a panfisherman so lay it on me grin. Every trip I have been to mille lacs I had my panfish gear and did just fine bringing big walleyes in. I use 2 pound test. I want to beef it up for the consistant catch of bigger fish. Was thinking 4 lbs.

I love 4lb test over almost any othe rline for eyes except for trolling

In the winter thats all I use just have to use the drag abit more.

The 4lb lets the lure fall as natural as it can without to much stiffness

I have used a underwater camera to watch the subtil differences and I will always go with 4 before 6 when comes to eyes.

Just check your line by the hook more often and you should be fine

go with six. water is dirty and you will want it when you tie into a big pike

Or a big sturgeon...

Those fish aren't line shy up there, so I wouldn't hesitate going with 6 or even 8. I sometimes feel like I get better action with the heavier line too. A bit slower drop, and a bit sharper of a jig too.
