searching for a new handheld GPS

Recommended Posts

I plan on doing alot of big game hunting in Nebraska, Montana, Colorado and wisconsin in the coming years.

I was wondering what GPS do you have and if you like it or not. What states have you used it in and how well did it work. Does it have public lands marked well allong with boundaries?

Does it have satelite imagery if so do you like it? How accurate?

Thanks

I have a Delorme PN-40 and have used it for the past two years. First off I will say it is not a beginners GPS. The thing I like the most is using it with the map program on my computer, I can exchange data, maps, areals and topos between the GPS and the computer. I do alot of scouting right from my lap top with the map program and have a good idea of the area before even leaving the house. It's very accurate and is very fast picking up satelites and orientating itself when you turn it on. I realy like the tracking features and being able to down load them to the map progam when I get back and able to see things on the bigger computer screen. I do buy a subscription from Delorme for downloading photos for $30 a year for unlimited access. The only bad thing I will say about it is the size of the screen, but then again my eyes aren't what they use to be either.
