DUCKJ
GOD FORBIB, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYMORE MUSKIES TO FISH FOR, BUT IF THERE WERE NO MUSKIES WHAT WOULD BE YOUR FISH OF CHOISE TO FISH FOR.IT WOULD HAVE TO BE NORTHERNS FOR ME JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE THE CLOSEST FISH TO A MUSKY IN SIZE AND WEIGHT THAT I CAN FISH FOR WHERE I LIVE. THEY MAY NOT BE AS PRETTY AS A MUSKY BUT THEY ARE JUST AS SLIMY.HAPPY HUNTINGDUCK
Biggestfish
Duck, turn off the old cap locks, it makes it look like you are yelling. If there were no Muskies I would go for LM Bass. I have caught some big ones while throwing out the muskie lures. Plus I enjoy casting, I am not much for sitting there and wait for the fish to bite. Lets just hope there are always muskies to catch.------------------Just Having Fun!Love to Fish.

berfish
Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass are what i like to fish for when not throwing for skies. They fight good and are easy to get to bite.beerfish

Biggestfish
No need to apologize Duck, I was just saying that it makes the post a little hard to read. Which I might say I thought was a good post.... Where are all the Muskie fisherpeople???? Everyone must still be hibernating. I for one can't wait to get out and throw some plugs... The 1st of June sure does seem like a long way away right now. ------------------Just Having Fun!Love to Fish.
Guest
I love to cast, therefore I'd cast for northerns or smallies. But when the arm gets tired, trolling for walleye with a good cigar and a beer is a great way to relax and see the lake. Rob
TUMBLEWEED
Now I've done my share of casting and trolling, but I never tried the trick of onein the prop wash. Whats the story on this one,how far back do you keep therig, what speed etc????
Guest
You can often trigger muskies to hit as close as 6 to 8 feet behind the boat, right in the prop wash -- and, at 5 to 8 mph.\OK, for me, if it's a fish then I'll try to catch it -- I'm not picky. Most of the time I'm on water that does not contain muskies, so I had better enjoy other species. Northerns are great fun, but so are king salmon on Lake Michigan, or sunfish off my dock. Guest
Nothing can come close to fishing topwaters for smallmouth bass. The way they explode up to take the bait, and jumping when your reeling them in. For their size they're the toughest fish i know.warroadfisherman
