wiring lights?

I have done it both ways.

It looks neater on the inside but one has to be very careful how they are installed so they do not pinch when the poles are going up and down.

The easiest and a very good way to do it is to tie strap them to your poles but I would leave a little slack as the wires may pull if everything is to9 tight.

I have also seen where people have used the longer extension cords for telephones to go along the poles when going down to the battery. They recoil back into place and stretch nice also.

I had mine ran cleanly inside the poles for a couple years, however I could not fully colapse my poles, so storing in the Summer was not as compact. At the end of last season I removed the inside wiring and used the coiled cord from an old Cell Phone charger. I attached the coiled cord to the outside of the pole, which now allows my house to colapse fully.

I ziptie my actual lights, but then leave about an 8ft section of lead free to do whatever I want with it. That way i can run it to a flasher if needed, or heck I've even ran it to an auto battery parked next to the house in a pinch.

When I'm done for the night, I bundle up the lead and velcro it to the over head pole.
