WAS OUT LAST SAT IN THE CASS LAKE AREA AND BOATED 3 SKIES 2 AT 37 INCHES AND 1 AT 38.5 INCHES. IT WAS COLD (HIGH OF 30) AND WINDY (2 FT CAPS WITH 3 TO 4 FT ROLLERS AT TIMES).
HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN DOING ANY GOOD.

HAPPY HUNTING

I was out over the weekend in the metro area. Water temps were anywhere from 46 to 48. We didn't get any in the boat, but we were seeing a few fish. Most of the fish we were seeing seemed to be very aggressive. Had two hit on a figure 8. One I pulled the bait away from because it was only about a 30". The other one was about a 40" that ate it but the hooks didn't hold. All but one of the fish we saw were very average fish. Did see one pig though. Jerk baits brought in all of our fish.

I to was out over the weekend on a metro lake. We boated 2 fish, a 42 and a 46 had 3 more follows and I more hit. We caught the 42" on a bucktail and the 46" on a surface plug in 2 feet of water.

Hi Rick,
The muskie hunting is just about over
for me.....I'll be pulling my boat this week. frown.gif
The action has been good, here on the big "V"...I have boated 7 fish the last
five days, unfortunately none were the
50+ I was looking for.

The 2 biggest fish, 46, 44.5 went on a
cobb jerkbait. The rest all hit a crank
while trolling, 42.5, 41, 40, 38, 37.

Water temps are in the low 40's in the main lake and the mid 30's in some of the shallow dark bays. There was a thin
layer of ice in Pike bay yesterday, but
it melted in the sun by afternoon.

ICE SUCKS!!!!!!!

Hi Big,
I'm not sure I'll be at the show, It's
a possiblity but right now, I'm not to sure.

I can help you out for the early ice, I am limited to fishing with a vehicle, I
can't walk to far, so if you need info
or you can wait till safe ice, give me a holler and we can talk about it.

Contact me at my private e-mail. smile.gif

Hi Dave,
The weather should be very helpful for
later in the week. I'm going to be out there every day I can, until I pull the boat out.
The jakes have been very effective for me as well, I have been getting alot of attention on the clown and the Pike. smile.gif

Good Luck!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
