Browing Tactical Hunter Head Lamp

EBass

Question

Went to pickup a new head lamp since I lost my old one and the old was well... old.

Saw this 135 lumen Browing Tactical Hunter with 2 red LED's and 2 green LED's with a low and high beam. I took it outside and WOW the high beam can light up 100 yards or more. This will be great for cat fishing. The red LED's will be great for early ice eyes.

First time out though I think the battery died as it didn't work. Said some choice words and exchanged it the next day. So far so good.

Has anyone else used this and how has it held up and how fast does it eat batteries? Said 48hours for battery life.

On a high setting you are looking at maybe 2-2.5 hours. Does this headlamp take 123 batteries?

I have been looking at some new headlamps. I have a cheap 14 dollar rovac head lamp that does all these same features just not as bright and lasts me most of the summer. Runs on double aa batteries.

When I look for headlamps I look at the ease of the batteries it takes. I can buy a bunch of AA batteries for the price of a few CR 123's. I also have a bunch of rechargeable batteries that I use as well!

I hope you like the headlamp! And hope it helps you out in the field!

Yes it's the 123 battery and they are expensive. I figued 48hours on high beam is far fetched. This headlamp was $50. Hmm, maybe I should return it. 135 lumens though, that's bright.

Good news is I did find the old headlamp, so I'll have a back up. That old one takes 3 AAA's and last while since it has 3 LEDS and that's that.

Thanks for the replies - hope it helps to.

I used it again last night and it was great. Saw that I left it in the truck over night and was like oh I can show this co-worker today. Well the thing didn't turn on again. So in 3 hours of use (red LED 90% of the time) and it dies or something is defective. Not impressed with this head lamp. Returning it tonight.
