Jiffy 9 inch Propane Auger

I bought the 10" Jiffy Model 40 propane a few weeks ago. Used it last weekend and loved it. Starts on the 1st pull. Drilled through 6" of ice lightning fast. Not noisy, not smokey, but maybe a little heavy(I may be getting weak in my old age too). I bought mine to use in my Ice Castle so that it didn't smell like a snowmobile in there anymore. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I saw a demo at the Ice Show and it looked like a nice unit. My StrikeMaster is about 15 years old and I was in the market for a new one so I bought a 10 incher. I think the propane auger debate might be just like the debate over 4 stroke motors when they first hit the market. There was a lot of hesitance at first, but people were sold when they started getting more information about them. I think that 10 years from now there will lots of propane augers sitting next to the fish houses. If I'm wrong I guess I will put the propane auger on the shelf with my Color-C-Lector.

Last year 2010, I bought the Jiffy 8" Pro4. I am impressed as to how long a bottle lasts. Yes, a bit on the heavy side, but then there are more pros than cons. I have had a few minor issues with it, but Jiffy Co. took care of my issues with very little hassle.

Most important.......Don't forget to register yours incase you lose your receipt.

I bought this Pro4 to replace a strikemaster and feel I made a good choice. my 2 cents.

Well I had a chance to use mine today and I'm not very happy at all. I tried this unit at home and it seemed to work fine. I decided to take a long drive up towards Leech and when we arrived I was able to drill 1 hole. After that I could get it started one other time long enough to drill a hole.

I would love to hear suggestions on what might fix my issue.

I tried a new tank of propane and checked the oil and still nothing.

I will be checking with the big C to see what the return policy is and grab a gas one if I can't resolve this issue.
