Tacky epoxy

Recommended Posts

I bought some thread master finish and it just cant seem to get the mixture right. Wondering if my epoxy might be bad. Takes forever to cure. Is always tacky and soft.

When I look at my bottles the level is the same so I am pretty sure I am mixing equally.

One rod the tackiness went away after a week. on another rod it seemed to take months before the tackiness went away.

Might be switching to flex coat?!?!

Hey Pure, how are you measuring the epoxy? If you're not using syringes I would highly recommend them. It should be a 50/50 mix be volume not weight and the more exact you can measure the better.

What's the temperature in your building area? The cooler the temp, the longer it'll take for the epoxy to cure, although in each case, a week or a month is a very long time.

They are all good, but all are pretty fussy about mixing equal parts. I have used flex coat and a brand called classic coat. Using syringes never had to wait more than 24 hours for things to cure.
