Strikemaster 9 inch replacement blades

They still sell the 9" blades on their HSOforum for $54.99. I had a 9" from the last year they made them and exchanged it for an 8" because the auger and blades were made in China. If you have an auger shaft that was made in China there still is a very good chance they will exchange it for an 8" or a 10" swedish shaft. There would be a slight upcahrge for the 10" but this way you won't have to worry how long the 9" blades will be around.

wait a minute...not sure if I understand?

I have a 9 inch auger.

Your saying that they wont be making 9 inch blades anymore and we should replace the auger with a 8 or 10 inch auger?

Seems pretty weird to me!

I love the 9 inch hole. I would want to have at least 2 sets of blades on hand if this is the case. If I have to send in one set to be sharpened...I would want to make sure I have another set handy in the meantime.

The last question would be how long can you continue to sharpen a blade? I would hope that my auger lasts many more years. If blades cant be sharpened more than a few times - i would need to stock up on at least a few sets of blades. This situation is a pain - I hope its not true!

I believe they will continue to supply the blades but I believe only from their HSOforum. Sometimes deals can be found in stores with the 8" and 10" blades. Keep the 9" as I agree the larger hole is ideal but if the auger was made in China, I would call Strikemaster to see if you could upgrade to a 10". I belive it is a difference of approximately $20. I got $10 back to go down to the 8" three years ago.

when you do the blade exchange with them you are NOT getting resharpened blades. they are brand new blades. they just don't put them in the clam pack and they want you to send you old blades back to them. they then sell the old blades to a scrap yard(they don't get resharpened). the money they make from the scrap off sets the cheaper price they charge of the exchange blades. they may sell the exchanges without you giving them your old blade but you would have to go to their shop in person and ask them(they may not I have never tried it).

they also do it right at the shop if a person wants to stop in. they are in Big Lake, MN. for me it is nice since I live in Monticello and their shop is like 10 minutes from my house.

I wish they would offer the 9 inch augers again. I had the 10 inch and liked it but in a X2 4 holes take up a lot of room and it can get tricky walking around. I went to the Strikelite and love it but really wish the 8 inch hole was bigger on account I am using more electronics and doing more laker fishing.

Ok. I feel a little better if your saying that they will still be making them. I dont mind ordering from the HSOforum or even going to the store itself. i live in maple grove and go by that area all the time for work.

So...one other question. Why would I want to exchange my auger part if it was made in China? were they bad or something? I cant imagine the auger part going bad or something like that? and how would you know - will the auger part say "made in china" ??

All the remaining 9 inch drills that were left over last year when they discontinued them were bought by H&H Sports Shop in Maple Lake. H&H may still have some left. H&H still has them listed on their HSOforum and was listed for $99.99

the pitch of the angle was off enough that the china made augers wouldn't cut right.

H&H had over 100 units about a month ago but were selling them rapidly. He was selling the majority of them with the Solo powerhead though not just the auger.

I wouldn't worry about getting blades for the 9". I just bought a brand new one even though they were discontinued last year. They will be available.

Mine seemed to be cutting OK. Is there any way to tell if they were made in china or not?

I guess I will go look - but was just wonderinf if there was a certain spot to look at etc...

I think mine is about 3 years old.

Hoffer,

the drill should be marked someplace on it. I looked at my 10 inch. it has a sticker on it were it hooks to the power head. check the blades also they my or my not say on them. my 10 inch blades say made in sweden.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
