Garage heater wont stay on

Brother in laws garage heater lights and goes out in 10 seconds, wont stay on. What can be the issue?

Probably one of the thermocouples to detect the flame is either dirty or moved a little and needs adjustment to the center of the flame. One may have gone bad also and needs replacment but try the easier solutions first.

Thermocoupler is bad - they are cheap and easy to replace - can be bought at most hardware stores - Fleet, Menard, etc.
