Showdown Interference

Hello all, I just browsed through the interference post about the vex, hbird, and marcums but I was wondering if anyone has ever fished with the older showdown and the newer one in the same portable? A buddy of mine said it doesn't work but I think that is a lie so please shed some light on this for me! Thanks!

I have a Showdown, and although I've never fished with another one around, I've seen plenty of guys who do. Pretty sure, and I could be dead wrong, that your buddy is making that up. It's pretty easy to clear the interference on them.

Have owned both a marcum and vexilar and now am a proud owner of a showdown 5.6. I fish with 2 guys, one with a hummingbird 55 and one with a vex fl-20 and although somtimes I get interference when we're super close to another, its fairly easy to find another channel and adjust. Best flasher, *ahem*, i mean sonar i've ever owned. and off topic, Yes the 5.6 upgrade it worth it!

The ShowDown 5.6s have Marcums sonar technology including interference rejection in them. Any older ShowDowns that were upgraded by Marcums also have Marcums sonar technology and interference rejection.

If the ShowDown in question predates Marcums taking over the Showdowns then it's a lot more likely that you'll have interference issues.

I put off getting the upgrade for my Aqua-Vu VPG upgraded to 3.2 (Showdown). I finally sent it off a few weeks ago, got it back and can't wait to see the difference when I get it out on the ice. I did have some interference issues at times with the 3.2 and I bet I will like the ability to zoom in at 1 ft. increments.

I did the upgrades as soon as they came out. I'm sure you'll find that you like it. wink
