My brother raves about this forum so I went ahead and joined up...this is my first posts and am really excited to see what responses I get...

I just bought a Frabill 3 man predator fish house and am wondering if I need to do anything to keep the poles from freezing and getting stuck...any info would be greatly appreciated!

If the poles on your porty start to oxidize and get difficult to operate after a couple years of use, just rub them down with a light steel wool and they will operate like new again. I have also seen on here where some guys will use their gun cleaning brushes to clean the inside of the bigger tube. 2c

Dry lube(powder graphite) for winter cold is the best option suggested.WD40 ingredients includes alcohol distillates which will evaporate and cause h20 and dirt to collect. If you do use any type of liquid lubricant for any purpose check out KANO products such as Kroil or Silikroil.Penephite is an excellent product of theirs as well.Good luck catching, don't fall in!c63

Definitely no to the wd 40 it smells and drips and the residue certainly causes stickiness after it collects all the dirt. Remington makes a spray on dri lube works well with no residue. The steel wool works excellent just set your porty up in the garage and take some time.
