I ran 2 sets in my Otter Cabin last season and it worked great. I put 1 set on the pole right above me and 1 set on the pole above the door. I turned them on and off as needed. Only used them both at the same time when it was fully dark out. I was very impressed with how bright they were and how durable they were.

Reminds me I need to order a few more sets for my new Otter Lodge.

I prefered the ones with the battery pack box. I was very surprised how long a few batteries lasted in them. I think I went a full season with 1 set and only changed out towards the end of the season because I was worried they would go at a bad time.

Ya I have the string lights Im sorry. I havent found any rope lights I liked and I have had no issues with the lights pointing in spots I dont like or want. Like I said I was so happy with them I will be ordering more for my Otters this year.

I always have a head lamp on for taking the house up and down and pullling on and off the ice or putting in the truck etc.

Using the string lights with the battery box did you find that you needed to keep the batteries inside between using them or did they still work well/hold enough power when they were cold?

I'm interested in them vs. having to bring another battery along for rope lights.

Mine always stayed on the poles in the house in the back of the truck or the garage all winter. No issues at all. I did make sure I used good rechargables. I only took them out and charged them up towards the end of the season because I was worried they would go low at the worst time. I was very surprised how long those lights would run on that little battery pack. I did make sure to use some good electrical tape to tape the box to the pole in my Otter. Worked great and out of the way for putting the house up and down.

Can someone provide a link to the exact lights they use? I'm gonna rig my Voyager up with some for this year. Getting sick of the headaches and dryness caused by my lantern and Mr. Cooker/Heater so I'm getting rid of both in favor of a Big Buddy and LED's.

Here is the link to the LED lights in the Outdoor Pro Store.

The ones with the small box are the AA battery light strings. The others run off the 12 battery. Many use the battery like the ones in a flasher.

I have 1 of the AA battery type in my portable and 1 of the other LED style that uses the 12v battery. I have in my portables used the plastic wire ties to secure the light string to the support poles. Plenty of light with the 2 for what I need for light. The one I use from the second link listed is I believe the 19". Be careful when you install the one LED light string so you do not bend the light string to badly as the connections could break or fail if you bend them severly. They are very good, durable light strings but if you bend them bad enough, you could hurt the one style. You would have to really bend them to hurt the light string but it could be done if one got very careless. I have had mine in the portable for a few years now and have not had one issue at all.

Ya Harvey Im glad I got them lights from you and the outdoor pro store. They worked great. I liked the AA battery pack ones so much I never used the 12V battery one but a couple times. Saved me a bit of weight and space.

I need to get busy and order 2 more sets here quick to put in my new Otter Thermal Lodge. Im thinking with the new lighter inner material of the thermal Otter it will be even brighter when needed now.
