Venison wild rice stew.

That is some GREAT stuff! When we fix it, we generally throw in a little browned Italian sausage as a cure for blandness. Bacon works, too.

LOW, any of the big grocery stores in Duluth will have porketta, as would the butcher/meat shops. It's very widespread and popular up here in northeastern Minnesota. We never had any trouble finding it when we lived in Duluth/Superior, and one of the meat shops in downtown Duluth sold porketta sandwiches on rolls during lunch hour. Mmmmmmm! There are a variety of ingredient mixes. Some prefer one, some another, but all the ones I've had are great. Spiced pig is good food!

Both Zup's and Ely Northland Market here in Ely carry porketta roasts that their meat guys prep themselves. Both are great!

If he's coming up Hwy. 1 from Silver Bay, ENM will be on the main drag on his left as he's coming through town. If they are out, Zup's will be farther up the main drag in the direction he is going, and on his right.
