Help!!

I am fairly new to the Brainerd/Baxter area and I have no idea where I can find a spot to deer hunt. I have a strong passion for deer hunting and I love to see and watch deer. I am looking for a spot that I will be able to at least harvest a nice doe. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I am also open to a guide as well.

The Pillsbury forest is just outside of town just know the boundaries i dont want to have to kick you off our land like the countless other people who cant read no trespassing signs Guys get the deer moving in there decent chance at a deer

there are a lot of acres there so plenty of places to sit i think you can look online at the DNR site and there is a map

Google Maps shows quite a few large state park/forest areas within easy driving distance of Brainerd. The MN DNR site should have more detailed maps available online for each of them.

Google Crow Wing or Cass County GIS, pull up the map and look for the ownership layer. It will show you all the state land in each county. Be willing to put in some extra work to get away from the crowds.

Just google Minnesota WMA's and it will bring a listing of every WMA in the state, location, topo maps, etc. Very good information

Best bet would be to buy a Cass and Crow Wing County Plat book. It out lines everything the best, and also includes county tax forefit land that is open to public hunting. Between that and google earth or whatever you use you will be good to go.
