thorne bros.

they are a sponsor of this site, but i'm pro staff or anything. they've got nice blanks plain and simple. there isn't much else out there though.

i'd like to hear some other options if somebody has got them. all the major rod-building online retailers seem to sell really cheap snoopy pole blanks.

There are some options out there, but not many. Netcraft has blanks but nothing I was too impressed with, mostly fiberglass. It can be trimmed and/or sanded to get what you want though. St Croix has some blanks out there. Mudhole has a new ice blank out but I havnt handeled one...

I build all my own rods, except ice rods. I let Thorne Bros take care of them now. I have built many but just find ice rods to be a pain I dont enjoy, lol...

Of all the finished rods and blanks I have seen... Thorne are top notch!

You can call there and talk to Pat, Matt, Lonnie, and get the perfect blank for what your looking to do...

Bobby - Not sure is Croix is offering thier solid carbon blanks anymore. If not, im sure some are out there. I used to take them and carefully sand em to an action like Thornes quiverstick. It was do-able but a pain. Now I just keep collecting quiversticks. cool

Mudholes are solid carbon. The kits dont impress me and I dont like the colored tips, but thats just me, lol...
