mattrd
Is it easy to unscrew the sight bead on the barrel? I have a HI-Vis screw on sight and am wanting to change these out. How difficult of a process is it?
Farley
Should back out farily easy if you can get a good hold of it, I cant remember if it had locktite or not. Mine broke off flush so I had to drill it out, then we didnt have the correct size tap here to re-tap for new bead.. so it was a pain for me but like I said I busted it off flush with the rib so I was behind the 8 ball from the start. 96trigger
I have put hi vis sights on all my guns. Get a vice grips, clamp it down and gently turn it out. Put the new one in with locktite and a screwdriver. You are good to go.
SmilinBob
A pin vice is the ideal tool for the job, but if you don't intend on keeping the bead just about anyting that will grip it should work. Use a gentle touch, they twist off very easy. The new bead should go in pretty easily, but some will have a different thread pattern. The most common are 3-56 and 6-48 for sight beads. 96trigger
forgot about the screws. Most of those sights come with multiple screws figure out which one it is first, and then use the loctite.
