Another issue with my Humminbird 788ci...

Mike Stark

Question

Has anyone had an issue with unit not sending out a sonar signal? My transducer is connected and the temp sensor works but my sonar page is blank. My transducer stopped clicking as well. I tried hooking it up to another transducer and had the same problem. I also tried restoring my default settings and updating my software. Nothing worked.

I called Humminbird and the first lady I talked to must have been in a really bad mood. She was no help and told me to send it in with 170bucks and they would fix. I let her go and tried calling again. Second lady was much nicer and very helpful. I still have to send it in so humminbird can look at it but i dont have to pay for it. what a difference a person makes!

iv been having too many issues with my 788ci this season...

Voltage is always the first thing I check on depth finders that are acting up. 11.6 volts is pushing the low side of the operating range and yours just might not like it being that low. Before sending it in, try charging or replacing the battery to get 12+ volts to the unit and see if it helps.

I have had this issue on a fully charged battery. That reading came off my portable pack battery which was probably not fully charged. It might have been 11.8 too.
