How to contact absente landowner?

Hi, I have some land nearby that I would like to hunt, but the owner lives hours away, and his name is too common to do a google search for phone number. I have the plat book and his name, how do I go about finding his contact information, like address or phone number? Thanks for any help.

call the county, and see if they can pull name and address off his tax records. they should be able to do that for you.

Most counties have a HSOforum where you can search tax records for all properties. That should give his name, address, and sometimes phone number.

Sometimes simply talking to the neighbors can give you all the infornation you need.

That's worked for me before too. Lot of times the close by neighbor knows them & kind of looks after the place. They usually know if they bowhunt, hunt turkeys, or birds or whatever.

I am the next door neighbor, lol, It is literally across the road from where I live, I know the guy a little bit, know that he doest bow hunt as I have got permission in the past, but now cant find his phone number and dont know exactly where he lives, I havent tried the above advice yet, but hopefully have time this week.
